The new STEM OPT regulations are going into effect on May 10, 2016. Â If the employee is eligible for 24 month extension after OPT, the employee and the employer must prepare an I-983 training plan to be filed with the DSO. Â Per the Paperwork Reduction Act, the training plan takes 7.5 hours to prepare.
