Adjustment of Status
Eligible and admissible foreign nationals may change their status to lawful permanent residency (green card) in the United States under Section 245(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Eligibility usually includes inspection, admission and parole into the United States, having an approved petition and availability of an immigrant visa.
